New Chevrolet Cruze

 

The Cruze being a diesel has good fuel economy despite a powerful engine. This adds on to the advantage of the vehicle.

 As we already discussed, the new 2013 Cruze has received no mechanical changes and houses the same 2.0L, 1991cc, 4-Cylinder In-line VCDi diesel engine with six speed manual and automatic transmission gearbox. This Advanced VCDi (Variable Geometry Turbo Common Rail Direct Injection) diesel engine delivers excellent power and acceleration with excellent fuel efficiency. This engine offers mileage around 14kmpl in urban traffic while on highway it gives 17.3kmpl mileage.

The 163 horses produced by the Cruze makes it one of the most powerful sedans in its segment, either petrol or diesel.

Both variants of Chevrolet Cruze are powered by the 2.0L VCDi diesel engine that delivers excellent engine performance with excellent fuel efficiency. Both of these diesel variants of Chevrolet Cruze are equipped with a 2.0L, 1998cc, 4-Cylinder, In-line VCDi diesel engine with 6-Speed manual transmission gearbox that offers high engine performance and it can produce maximum power of 163.7bhp at 3800rpm with maximum torque of 380Nm at 2000rpm . That results excellent acceleration.

The acceleration of the Cruze is good, and the upgraded power and increased number of gears has further enhanced the power. The 6-speed manual has well spread-out ratios.

 Chevrolet Cruze has been launched with two variants which are packed by powerful diesel engine option that delivers higher level of performance and offers excellent acceleration. Both variants of Chevrolet Cruze are powered by a 2.0L, 1998cc, 4-Cylinder, In-line Advanced VCDi (Variable Geometry Turbo Common Rail Direct Injection) diesel engine of next generation with 6-Speed manual transmission gearbox that offers high engine performance and it can produce maximum power of 163.7bhp at 3800rpm with maximum torque of 380Nm at 2000rpm. The top variant is also available with automatic transmission gearbox. This higher level of power and torque results excellent acceleration so that Chevrolet Cruze can cross 100kmph mark in just 9.7 seconds and can achieve the top speed mark of 184kmph.

The new 2013 Chevrolet Cruze sports newly styled dual port front grille with stunning looking dual bezel headlamps, which has made this model more aggressive than before. It is a dynamic styling sedan model that comes with stylish front and a strong bonnet with chrome finish belt line that gives it muscular and aggressive front look. The side profile gets more enhanced with new chrome door handles and to add to the beauty, there are new alloy wheels fitted under nicely carved wheel arches. Chevrolet Cruze is a ultra spacious mid sized sedan model which has the seating capacity of fives passengers. It offers generous headroom of 999mm (Front) and 963mm (Rear) with the legroom of 1074mm (Front) and 917mm (Rear) with the shoulder room of 1391mm (Front) and 1370mm (Rear) that is sufficient even for a six feet tall person.

The performance of an engine is good, and this is the reason why Chevrolet calls it the Diesel Rocket. The 163bhp of power is sufficient, though we will recommend the manual over the automatic.

The handling of the Cruze is good and alacrity of the chassis isn’t as good as the European competition, but it does the job of sticking to the ground.

 The front and Rear wheels of Chevrolet Cruze are packed with large ventilated disc brakes. Its larger diameter disc brakes de-accelerate the car quickly. ABS (Antilock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution) resists car to skid in case of emergency braking. The suspension system comprises of McPherson Strut with linear cylindrical coil spring and tubular stabilizer bar system at front, and rear gets a compound crank type with non-linear and mini-block coil spring. Such advanced suspension system makes the ride more comfortable and smooth.

The safety features on the Cruze include airbags, ABS and even EBD. There is also a provision to attach child’s seat.
